The "Fantastic" 6 that the Pedo State faithful are hoping makes its way to Happy Valley.
Uhh well, as an ISU fan who’s watched all of our games every year, their list is wayyyy off lol.

I’d want everyone back from that list, but Neal is probably the only one irreplaceable (we’d see a big drop off in production with his backup). Maybe Buhr too. I like all the rest as Cyclones, but I think we could get by with their backups.

No Brahmer, Cooper, or Williams on the list immediately shows they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

I have some inlaw family that graduated from Pedo State and they are some of the most arrogant people you have ever met. Most Pedo State fans look down their collectives noses at the likes of Ames and Iowa State.

I feel like these types of posts are recency bias since his injury at Cinci.
Exactly

I am guessing most of our transfer announcements will come after the semester ends. They are still in class and on campus with folks who do not want them to go. I would assume if they wait there is a bunch less they have to deal with making it easier on themselves.

I hope this doesn't sound like a knock on Campbell or the ISU players, but why do people think some of them will go to Penn State and -- with pretty much the same coaching staff -- that went 8-4 this year and have never won a conference title suddenly turn Penn State into Big 10 and National Tittle contenders?

I agree. The 84-88 point 3-stars on 24/7 that Campbell depended on here will not even cause a ripple of excitement at PSU. They want the 88+ point 4-stars and up to compete with the recruiting classes. Their 2025 class averaged just above 90 (ISU was around 86). Sure, Campbell got alot from the mid 3-stars, but average 86 (and close to last place in the BIG) and they will drum him out of town after a year. Now, are some of our 3-stars likely closer to the high 80's after development...sure. But very few...and not the level that Campbell needs at PSU to compete with OSU, MIch, Indiana, Oregon, USC, etc.

Yeah I've wondered this as well. PSU has a higher "floor" of recruits they can get before they have to go poaching too much.

I don't see anyone saying that whole last part, but this team was a couple injuries away from probably being 10-2, so while they're obviously not going to turn Penn State into that immediately, they should improve that roster.

One thing that is really hard to recruit here is superior pass rushing. We got lucky with Bailey and McDonald and we've been looking for replacements ever since. Pass rushing specialists practically fall off of the trees for Penn State. This is just one example of what would make Penn State a desired destination.

The other side of this is that there are really high expectations for the players at Penn State. You aren't given much slack. I'm not that familiar with Penn State's roster but one example of this type of expectation is Dylan Raiola at Nebbie. He's a lifelong Huskers fan, a 5-star QB recruit and a legacy. He may be transferring. Not because of money but because the boosters and former players put so much pressure on him to carry the team.

For 7-10 guys (nobody knows the potential number yet) it’s going to come down to insane NIL money vs. playing time.

Because Penn State signed two guys in the 2026 class. I think they can afford one "down" class, if Campbell poaches ISU commits (he's already got a relationship with) and raids the portal

saw the list earlier in the week and got a chuckle.

but the list could be more about filling Penn State needs than recruiting ISU's best players.

Fully expect Campbell’s to go after at least seven of the guys you listed.
Indeed. I would also guess Campbell and PSU will offer them more money than we can offer. Just a guess; I have no inside information. Hard to turn down if you're a player and you like your coach and you're getting more money elsewhere.

The toughest part of all this is that I could imagine most of our top players who do leave will transfer to PSU. That will stink.
