***Official portal tracker thread***

How did Jamie choose this? By not choosing to have a more lucrative TV contract than the Big 10 or $200 million donor. How incompetent.
I’m getting the feeling that the poster you responded to is either Mouser or a close connection to him. His butt is really chaffed that we didn’t hire him.

They are Penn State, Campbell moved up a star recruiting just being at PSU. This thought that they are going to strong recruiting high character lower ranked kids is not going to happen. There are plenty of 4 and 5 star athletes that also have character and want to win. Look at the last two classes Franklin recruited they had around 40 four star recruits in them. This year may be a struggle because they are so late getting into the game, but next year that will not happen and they will be in the top 10 to 15 in their recruiting class.
I didn’t say he wouldn’t get 4 star athletes, but Franklin for all his success there, did not pull many 5 stars and I don’t think Campbell will either. He’s going to live in the 100-500 ranked kids is what I was implying. Hell he will be doing great most years if he can get 5 of the top 10 kids out of Pennsylvania alone. It’s a very football talent rich state.

There was a definite shock in the small circle close to the program that Mouser didn't get the job. Schaalhaese got the call as soon as Pollard caught wind of it. He's gonna be a NFL head coach in 3 years so that's a no go. CJR was second.
I personally don't like the direction Pollard is going and he's definitely heard similar frustrations from boosters and supporters.
This is what I heard while it was going on as well (wed into thurs that week), also heard Becht was contacted to see if he was interested. The CMC staff initially didn't want to leave; I'm guessing that changed once it was clear it wouldn't be Mouser and when PSU salaries were thrown at some of them. I would like to know what went on when the decision was made to not go to a bowl game. That process and decision really bothers me and was a strong indication that someone tore things down on their way out, kind of like when Wayne Morgan clearly attempted(successfully) to sabotage the start of the McDermott years.

yeah, sorry, getting insulted, tends to bring it out in me. I mean when someone resorts to name calling, put downs and insults, they no longer deserve a cordial response.

But yes, I get your point. Maybe having the flu for the last week has made me extra salty.
I would just ignore people who insult. When someone feels the need to insult you when they don't even know you, then you know its not even worth continuing to debate with them.

I hope Connor can impress his new QB coach. The kid is showing some great leadership qualities in this change over.
My hope is that we have much better options in the portal or roll with Moberly. Spending 1 million on a mediocre Sun Belt QB isn’t the answer.

So how does every other ******* school that loses a coach manage to make the bowl?

They have the assistants continue as interim. JUST LIKE WHAT ISU could have done, and as said the assistants and coordinators were still here, and willing to coach through the bowl.

The idea of having Mac coach, was nothing more than saying there were plenty of options. In reality the assistants would be there to do most of the coaching you would name Mac basically as the honorary coach, but everyone would know Heacock would be calling the shots. But again that would not be necessary, because we had the assistants willing to step up, like everywhere else does.

Its insane people continue this narrative that we had noone to coach, that is just absolutely not true. We had the same that any of the other teams playing in bowls this year that the HC went elsewhere, including, Wazzu, LSU, Pedo St, Ol Miss, etc etc. But for some reason some people want to claim our situation was different? No No it wasnt.

Mac being an honorary coach is just asinine.

JMO. Rocco is overpriced at $1.4 million. Take that money and spread it around. That WSU team was built for $2 million. Pretty damn good team.
They were a 6-6 team playing a G5 schedule.

Look, I like the upside that Rogers has as well but all he did at Washington State was bring the middle part of his SDSU roster to Pullman and that was good enough to be incredibly average because there isn't much gap between the MVFC and the G5.

Hopefully he uses his now increased resources to bump up the talent level significantly from what he's got a Washington State. Trying to bring that roster to the Big 12 is a great way to finish 13th in the Big 12.

1M on a transfer QB doesn't seem like correct move, or one that CJR is interested in. That's 4-5 high-quality defensive players. Moneyball.

Man all I see is our players leaving possibly to Pedo State and I'm getting angry at Matt Campbell because now it feels like he's out to destroy ISU. What is this new doing? We are not getting new players fast enough. By now we should have at least 5 players from WSU follow him to ISU.

The portal isn't officially open yet. So technically the player can't commit yet, but I'll guarantee we have players committed and they will be announced once the portal is open.
