Blum always provides good insights on this stuff, and I appreciate that. He has a good sense of what things look like from a 30,000 foot level but also has been deeply involved in it for long enough to understand how a GM would view different position groups or approach getting the players they want on campus from the portal. Hopefully he stays tuned in well enough now that he's made the career change.
I've always liked Blum and his takes are pretty solid.

One of my favorite guys to watch this year was Tre Spivey from Arizona because he looked like a TE that played WR. Would love this guy to fill that role
Would be great to pull in another taller WR to go with these smaller, faster variety.

This is quickly turning into "the death of ISU football has been greatly exaggerated".

I'm wondering if some of the out-transfers had to do with the idea that Rogers had guys he considered better coming in.
I'm sure he was honest in that their standing in the program under Campbell guaranteed nothing under him.

I just don’t want to do this again in 3 years. Or next year for that matter.

Looking back, Campbells biggest strength may have been convincing talented kids to stay with us for less.

I hope JFR can do the same.

We have a lot of spots to fill. Seems like he's worth taking a chance on with his upside.
We’re building a McFarland Clinic for him, right across from JT.
Lost our kicker and it all fell apart.
We were healthy for K-State, Iowa and Ark State (kickers the exception). While we won all three, looking back, were we Top 15 material?

Iowa State runs out of reserves in two years so you don't have to worry about it.

Not sure how this all turns out, but what is clear is that Rogers came in with a plan, and he and his staff appear to be executing it well so far.

We're going to end up with a good mix of ISU guys who stayed, WSU transfers, and good pieces from all over.

The ROI benefits the school and the school alone. Not the people footing the bill. That’s not how ROI should work.
You are saying a booster who ponies up money (their own personal choice) for the schools NIL for the sport they are a fan of, receives no benefit from the program he supports being successful? Isn’t that for the booster to decide? You better go tell every booster who has ever contributed to a program (including before NIL) that they all received no benefit for their investments in the program they support.

I think it’s crazy that some posters here cannot conceive of a return on investment in anything other than direct monetary terms.

I assume Grunk was the QB in the bowl game, I agree he looked much more talented.
Saw a couple PSU games (I have no life). Grunk was a highly rated freshman QB. He took over mid year. Got thrown into Iowa game and almost beat them. Won last 5, including the bowl game where he was mvp. The thing is, he had three years left. The second thing, Matt wanted his guys. VT took Grunk the minute Rocco committed.
