So, is there a rule that you have to be able to establish the run before you may throw over the line that is crushing you? If so, I'd think there would be a lot of teams that would get many more penalties. Also, is it possible that there is actually no penalty for moving the pocket or rolling out when defenses are pinning their ears back and crashing the pocket OR simply killing your O-line?
I've said this many times over the years. I don't care if we do it "the right way" (from a proper 1960's football coach's perspective) I just want to win. Quit with all this, we need to establish the run **** when you don't have the staff to pull it off. Figure out how to set up over the top pass plays (that your QB has a good arm for) with something else.
