***Official Olympics Discussion***

And Phelps could be having an even better Olympics had he practiced more.

Funny how it's okay for some here to judge the "hotness" of supermodels, but it's not okay to judge an athlete when he's not living up to expectations.

Whose expectations? This is what I was talking about with the talking heads being over the top. People who expected him to win everything again this year just have no idea how hard it is. There's a reason nobody has won gold in the same event 3 years in a row.

5 seconds. As Bob Costas just said, it's not uncommon for a person of her age. They said Michael Phelps shaved 4 seconds off his 200m or 400m butterfly time between the ages of 14 and 15 in less than a year. SOooooo...

They said 7 seconds yesterday in the broadcast.

Is there proof that they have one now?
If yes, then there's at least something to talk about, but still not real founded yet.
If no, suspicion really needs to stop until some sort of positive result appears.

I agree, that guy shouldn't have said anything and it's unfair for that girl to be accused like this. I'm just saying it's understandable to wonder because of the country she's from. Just better wondering silently though.

There was some sort of quote from some of the Olympics committee that when asked if they knew if China's drug testing was up to par and he said "I really don't know."

How can they not know?

Also the Aliya chick on Russia.

So we're latching on to excuses now. It's too hard. Um, okay.

If he's supposed to still be the best swimmer in the world, he should still be winning. He's not. If this is the route we're going to take perhaps we shouldn't be treating him like the best swimmer in the world anymore.

This is what I mean when I say her being from China is why people are suspicious. The USOC has very strict doping rules that everyone knows about. Who monitors the Chinese athletes in between Olympic cycles?

He probably isn't the best swimmer in the world right now. That was supposed to be Lochte. There aren't really any standout multi-event male swimmers this year, which is good for Phelps and the US.

And had he kept up with his practicing instead of slacking off he might still be.

Seriously how can anyone **** on floor. (referring to the Russians) It's bunch of flips and prancing around.

If anyone thought Phelps was going to do in London what he did in Beijing your as high as Phelps. Especially if you saw Anderson Cooper's report on Phelps on 60 minutes before the Olympics. He was I think banned for a year I think and when he did come back he hasn't had the same commitment. Before Beijing he had never missed a practice, and after he came back from his suspension he missed practices on a regular basis. All this is from the AC 60 report.
