NBA: ***Official NBA Draft and Offseason Thread***

Kyrie Irving to the Celtics. Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the 2018 Nets pick to the Cavs. Trade makes sense for both sides, but that's a really nice haul for the Cavs.

Are you kidding? Boston got bent over in that trade. The Cavs made a great move, and have a great chance at the number 1 overall pick in 2018, a move which will do nothing but help keep LaBron in Cleveland.

Huh? Did you miss the part where I said it was a really nice haul for the Cavs?

Horford, Kyrie, and Hayward make a decent 3. Yes, I know it's no Warriors but that's a solid trio.
Celtics need a good shooting guard now,

IT has injury concerns and both him and Crowder deals are up soon. That's probably what Boston was thinking. I'm not sure of the Cavs cap space next season if IT and Crowder leave. They could sign a guy close to the max plus have LeBron, Love and a top 5 pick (Bagley, Porter, Doncic) if they have the cap space.

LeBron, IT (if healthy), Love is better. Boston's probably thinking LeBron leaves next season and they will be the favorites to get to the Finals. I'd still take the Cavs over the Celtics as of now for next season.

You said it was a good trade for both sides. I dont see where it was a good trade for Boston. They lose some good depth for next season.

I said the trade made sense for both sides. Kyrie is younger, bigger, and is a more attractive player to sign to a long term deal. He is an upgrade over Thomas in pretty much every sense. Crowder is easily replaced by Brown and it allows the Celtics to give Brown more playing time. Zizic is basically a non-entity until he actually comes stateside and plays.

Once you add in the pick then hell yes Cleveland wins the trade easily. That will probably be a top 5 or even top 3 pick. I agree with you that the Cavs won this.

The Celtics are way deeper though. The lack of quality bench players for the Cavs killed them against the Warriors who could roll out Iguodala, Livingston, etc. As long as the Cavs have LeBron though I will take the Cavs.

Dan Gilbert probably does as well and might be starting his rebuilding now.

The Celtics were a sieve on defense with Thomas out there, Bron will be a one man cover-up crew.
