It really is great. Balfe (the actress that plays Bale's wife) is awesome. I hope she gets some bigger roles. Outlander is her biggest so far on TV. She has a presence on screen that is that 'it' factor.

I'd never seen her before. She was great. I couldn't help but think she looked and acted exactly like a little older version of Karen Gillan.

The scene of Henry Ford II riding with Damon is one of my favorite scenes in any movie this year.

That particular scene was amazing and also why I'd say this is one of those few movies I'd say you need to see in the theater. How it was shot and with the sound, I literally felt like I was in that car with them. It helped too that I was in a SuperScreen DLX theater for my particular showing.

Ford v Ferrari is several things. The best racing movie I've ever seen. Might be my favorite Bale performance ever. One of the best true story sports movies I've ever seen. The editing and sound are some of the best I can remember. One of the best of the year without question. This is a crowdpleaser that I hope the general masses go to because everyone will like it/love it. I am no fan of racing in any sense. But it is fantastic.

Have you ever seen Rush? I love that movie. How does it compare to that?

A new 4th Star Trek sequel just got announced yesterday with all the newer cast returning and is set to have Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) direct. Personally, I'm super happy to see this as I've been clamoring for a new Star Trek movie for a while now. I love all the newer movies including all the new cast. Yes, I even loved "Into Darkness". As for Noah Hawley, I'm at least intrigued. I don't really like his style he went with for Legion, but I have not seen Fargo. I have no doubt he is a good director, but I really have no idea how this new Star Trek will look with him at the helm. For now, I'll be optimistic.
I'm pumped about Hawley doing a Trek film, but this likely means his Doctor Doom film is officially dead.

I took a 400 level history class on WWII as an elective my senior year, just to learn more on about the US/Japan naval battles. I was pretty hyped to hear this movie was coming out. Some of the scenes seemed a little far fetched like the zero strafing the road and all the tracers on the dive bombers. Plot wise though it was very similar to the one made in 76. A lot of similarities along with some things I never new before. All in all a good movie to see if you are a WWII buff.

Saw Ford vs Ferrari last night and loved every minute of it. Hands down one of my favorite movies of the year. While it is a little long, the time seems to fly by and it is well worth it. Would recommend everyone check it out whether you are a race fan or not. I don't watch or really care for racing myself.

I really want to see it. I may try to get there this weekend.

We finally saw Jojo Rabbit this past weekend. I loved it. Great acting and a really nice blend of humor all throughout. My 12 year-old even liked it, and I wan't sure how she'd react to such a different movie than she's used to.

Anybody else looking forward to Richard Jewell? I don't go to theaters that often but I might for this one.

Yes and no? Whenever I see that Eastwood has a movie coming out I get really excited. Sadly more often than not, the movies aren't all that great. Some are great for sure...but most (at least in the past 15 years or so since Letters fro Iwo Jima) are misfires. To me anyway.

I'll see it though I'm sure.

Of his latest ones, I found The Mule entertaining enough and The 15:17 to Paris to be somewhat unwatchable. Granted, The 15:17 to Paris was all kind of one big experiment of trying to use the actual real-life people from the event in their own roles as actors. Needless to say, I can't say it was too successful.

In the process of watching the Irishman. I don’t know if I’d even call this a movie. It’s basically the same as a season of fleabag length wise. I’ll finish it but man.

I actually like it quite a bit but I love true story mafia stuff. My thing is this...if critics didn't know it was Scorcese that directed it, would it be getting all these amazing reviews and winning all these critics awards? Me thinks not.

I liked it. Pacino was phenomenal and should be the favorite to win Best Supporting Actor. DeNiro and Pesci were also amazing and I wouldn’t be surprised is they were both nominated as well (DeNiro for best actor and Pesci for supporting). The movie itself is not Scorsese’s best, but still Oscar worthy. I feel that the length of it makes it a grind for a lot of people to get through it though, as it’s not a fast paced, full of action movie.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not a huge Scorcese guy. I know this is blasphemous but I actively think Casino sucks and I don't get the mass appeal of Goodfellas.

The Irishman is fine. I ended up finishing it as I came in to work late today. It 100% would not be getting the attention it's getting if it didn't have all of these older guys in it as their last go 'round.

I have to admit I just listened to a podcast where the people were just going on and on about how Scorcese is a master and people complaining about the length are just uncultured rubes and it just drives me crazy. "YOU CAN'T QUESTION SCORCESE! THE MOVIE IS THE RIGHT LENGTH TO TELL HIS STORY! HE'S A MASTER!" Well guess what, Silence was too dang long. The Wolf of Wall Street was too dang long. Casino was too dang long. I can like the guy's movies and think they are too long. He's the drama equivalent of Judd Apatow. I like Apatow movies too but they are all too long.

I know it's misogynist. I know it's anachronistic. I don't care, I still like James Bond. I think that trailer looks great and I'll be going to that one for sure.
