Official ISU-Nebraska Post Game Thread

I would just like to point out that the cupboards were very bare for Chizic to start with. That is a fact. We should be about .500 next year, and maybe a bowl game the next. GC deserves at least 4 years at ISU to see what he can achieve.

The biggest difference I can see between our team and the other ones in the conference is that when our players are put into one on one situations, we normally get beat. All the coaching in the world will not make up for a lack of talent. The talent situation will take time, and Chizik is the right guy for the job. Yeah it sucks to watch, but as a resident of Ames, I can tell you that based on my interactions with his players, they are courteous and polite.

Well, I thought that he was a disaster after the first ... then second games last year. I still think that has made some poor choices. I had some hope until the second half of the Kansas game....
 
I have'nt read every post on here, but does it go something like this?

Fire chizik. Hire new coach. If he doesn't win first game. Fire Him. Hire new coach. If he is'nt leading in his first game at half. Fire Him. Get a arm chair QB out of stands. to finesh game I hate losing. Its unacceptable. Ever. Period. I want to Win NOW. I have no patience and want to win now. Pollard is an idiot. Our recruiting sucks. Our School sucks. Our State sucks. Our play calling Sucks. I am really closet Hawk fan.

What have I left out? Someone give me the cliff notes version.

I love melt downs but would rather listen to sound off after hawk loss for my fix. At least Tommy can only call once per show.

The offense obviously played horrid, but I think the real story of the the day was the defense's failure to even touch Ganz on 99% of the plays today. Other than that, the defense didn't play THAT bad.

We've obviously taken our position as the worst team in the North and we'll find out next week who the worst team in the Big 12 is.

The end of this season will not be like the end of the last season. Can we find some sort of momentum going into the offseason???

I COMPLETELY disagree with your assessment! The real story was our offense's inability to take advantage of turnovers and to finish drives...The defense, particularly in the second half, gave our team chances time after time. We came away with fumbles and a missed field goal at 21-7. A lot of teams are going to give up 28-35 pts to NU, but none are going to score 7 or less!

Low blow.

The fact that Scales even tried to continue playing football is a testament to his work ethic and dedication to being a Cyclone.

He's had an injury plagued career and the injuries have not been minor.

He deserves better than what you just gave him.
 
I don't think that you can point to one aspect of the game and say that it made a difference today. Maybe taking a chance or two might have turned the tables - or made things worse. Having said that, do you really care if you lose by 28 or 42? I would rather think that the coach pulled out all of the stops... OK fans can say that. Chizik will get his 6 years... that's for sure. Can we afford to get rid of him?

Yes isuforlife a moment of truth...Money rules college football those with the money win and those without money end up in last place aka baylor usually and isu usually!!!

Reality really bit hard today boys and we just lost to a great Nebraska team or at least a Nebraska team who played great today!!!
 
On the bright side, we were able to continue our push to break the single season personal foul record (whatever the number is, we're sure to come close to it).

I did not see the second half, were there any called there or just the one in the first half?
 
I'm just not happy with the offensive scheme, and the timing of certain offensive play calls and the sets we're running at those times. Why did we see so little of Sedrick Johnson and Darius Darks in the first half? Why no trick plays or creativity? When you are struggling on offense, try to do something to get yourself field position or a spark...
 
I put this one on the coaching staff and no one else. Their lack of adjustments are really lacking. That zone they played in the first half was just awful and Ganz just picked it apart. Chizik better get his act together and get it together fast.

You made a good point. Alum should be ashamed of himself far attacking Jason & his recruitment and for making such absurd statements. He was so injured in high school that he only ran for over 6000 yards and played -- didn't sit on the bench, but played -- on a team won the state championship his jr. and sr. years. Scales isn't the first player who didn't accomplish everything that might have been in college because of injuries and he won't be the last. He deserves credit for continuing to work hard and do whatever he can to help the team, and he's still the best blocker we have in the backfield.

I didn't attack anyone, but thanks for sensationalizing my post. Just pointing out a fact. He played through injuries in high school, and that's great. There is nothing absurd about what I posted and I said nothing negative about Scales himself.

So, who should be ashamed here?
