It was not a good timeout, period.

In college, the clock only stops on 1st downs until the ball gets reset, then it starts up again. The clock had already gone from 16 secs down to 13 before we called timeout to help them out.

They come out of the timeout and drew up the perfect TD play, but their WR just happened to drop the pass.

No it was not. It was a horrible timeout. The clock only stops momentary on first downs, and Baylor was likely to have to rush a play or spike the ball. We let them get their offense set and talk about what play they want to run.
