It was not targeting. Sorry. Hit him with his face mask and the shoulder. I dont care that the idiotic targeting rule has always been stupid and horribly called by officials, all of whom are incompetent and terrible at there job. That was a good tackle. Have all the losers that have never tackled someone thinking defensive players are supposed to defy the laws of physics.

Guys played their asses off. Just made huge mistakes in big moments.
That angle you couldn't say 100% it wasn't to the shoulder. Not enough head movement to see. Another angle would have helped.

This isn't how it works.

No team plays perfect.

A game is the matchup of one team and their strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes, vs another team and their strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes.

Outside factors from officiating that effect the natural result of that matchup absolutely can be complained about. And calls like that, at that point in the game, have massive effect.

Exactly. I get god damned sick and tired of fans acting like a team has to play a perfect game in order to put blame on the refs.

We were driving and plenty of time. That was a god damned targeting. Do we win the game for sure if it is called? Of course not. But we lost the chance to find out unfairly.

This.....if we just stop making stupid mistakes and make that one play, that wouldn't haven't even happenned/mattered. Xavier should have walked into the endzone on how open he was.

I mentioned 3 weeks ago this season is going to be a season of "what ifs'' we are not week 4 of just a couple things from being undefeated. Someone said it well. we are just like last years Nebraska.
ISU had chances. X dropping the TD, missed field goal, not stopping the run.

Right. If that call is at some random spot in the 2nd quarter, probably not such a deal. Right then at the most crucial of times, and not of trying to get the call right, the call has a huge impact.

But not if you are Texas. AND WHY? They are shitting on the Big 12 and they still get all the ******* calls. They should get hosed on every call until they slink off to the SEC.

I agree that no team plays perfect. But taking away the big mistakes that we call the margins is a big part of that. Throwing in a triple coverage in the red zone and turning the ball over was a huge momentum killer. Dropping a wide open pass that if you stay on your feet could have potentially been a touchdown is also a moment that did not require perfection. I'm just so sick and tired of hearing people blaming the refs for our losses when it's a combination of our team as a whole. I think we made a huge improvements this week and I'm actually quite happy with our play calling compared to the week's prior. I think we'll learn a lot from this game and hopefully move forward fixing some of these issues that seem to plague us week over week.

And that is why there is replay to make sure you are right. But of course, no replay was called.
