It blows me away how much people get caught up in the political climate and judge if we're a great country by that alone. From my experience, the two groups of people that unconditionally love the United States of America the most (yes, this is a generalization) are those that have fought for it and those that have lived in other places across the globe that have started new lives here. Like anything else, it's easy to forget that the majority of humans on this planet would literally kill to be poor in America over their current situation. We have our problems, but we are without doubt the beacon of hope and freedom for the rest of the world. It can be hard to keep that in mind when we're so incredibly saturated with negativity from so many different media outlets.
