OFFICIAL Going to Dallas Thread

What is the pregame festivities situation? I'm assuming tailgating is a no go. Texas Live? It would be nice to get a little taste of pregame spirit.

I would guess very little. No organized festivities from Iowa State. Parking lots open at 7am you can tailgate in certain areas. Texas Live! Has the Dr Pepper Big 12 Champuonship Watch Party, doors open at 8am. So there is that.

Yeah I'm not counting on any official events, just wondering more about unofficial gathering spots, if you will. I know a few people who have parking passes, would be great to get some tailgating in if that's a possibility. Thanks

They won't open at 7am. It's 5 hours before the game which is roughly 2pm.

Sorry if this has already been addressed. Are Clone fans getting together to watch the basketball game on Friday night anywhere? Misery loves company.

Well we got offered two tickets from a family member down there that two of their group can’t use now. I didn’t plan on going but this is too hard to pass up. So glad I get to share this memory with my son. We are going to drive down and leave early Friday morning then after the game at some point start making our way back to Iowa and staying either in Oklahoma City area or push through to Wichita.

Will be a great memory.
We took our kids to the Alamo Bowl, got to SA two days before the game. Drove straight through both ways. Downpour from KC to Austin almost the whole time. Had to stop in some sketchy gas station South of Waco due to a tornado warning. Loved my kids telling me how the ride wasnt too bad when they slept for like 6 hours if it.

No idea what to expect here, but given the number of people i know going, and with the limited ticket profile - i can't see how this isn't 65% ISU / 25% OU and 10% corporate/other

I have never gone to a big sporting event and later regretted going so I would say definitely worth it. I imagine though there were some Hawk fans in 2015 that spent a fortune going to Pasadena that might feel otherwise.
