Until we sign a good point guard, I'm going to be really nervous about dropping Wright. I know he's not a perfect prospect (good but not great athlete, only 6'1" height at the max, doesn't always take care of the ball) but he's a pretty good one and he sure seemed like a pretty sure thing. I guess I'm just a little nervous that we end up with a walk-on from Humboldt as our PG in '18. I guess I'll put my faith in the staff for this ride.

They know what they're doing and more importantly, what they want.

Thoughts on attrition? Not looking at all to speculate on who, just thinking this might be the first year in awhile we don't have any with only 7 returners and starting positions wide open in '17.

Jackson - Likely start in '17
Babb - Monte said he has most NBA talent
Lard - FR
Young - FR
Long - FR
Kasongo - Already transferred and will be JR
Carter - Unknown but had good offers and young bigs take time

Trust the staff until they prove you otherwise even if they don't get a HS PG this year there are good prospect to be found in JC and spring transfers.
Prohm system puts a priority on PG play if the PG he lands I limited or not a "perfect prospect" for his system it is better to wait and find one who is. Wright is a solid player but but if Prohm thinks he can do better for his system it is better to not just settle to have a body meanwhile attempt to recruit over him every year. Not to mention landing a PG early would hurt the PG chances with prospects that have yet to visit (McNeil, Wiggington, Sexton).

Guessing it'll be low due to playing time available next year. However depending on the recruits that have commit and possible mid season/post grad transfers that could both contend for playing time in 2017 there is too much unknown to speculate IMO.

Yeah you never know about attrition, but it should be close to zero. We have lots wide open PT next year, so I don't see anyone wanting out.

We have lots of scholarships to give out, so I doubt the coaches will be aggressively pushing anyone out.

Probably the only way attrition would take place is if we fill up our 6 spots, and then a too good to pass up transfer opened up next summer. If that happened and there was someone who was obviously never going to play, you might see 1 person leave.

If for some reason we don't land a HS PG we will be a great landing spot for a JUCO or Grad Transfer. Tons of immediately available playing time (what they want) and Prohm is good with PGs

Thanks. Wiggington or Sexton would definitely settle my nerves.

I agree though there could be an Ernst situation where the staff takes on a prospect for practice and chance they develop because they have an extra scholarship and at the end of the year they transfer out due to being recruited over. That sort of goes back to the Wright conversation and why I am alright with the staff stopping the recruitment. Guess Prohm saw the error in doing that and limiting mid season transfer possibilities but we'll see.

I believe you just defined the EXACT reason we do indeed speculate!

You shouldn't be. I think anyone that watched him with his AAU team on ESPN about a month or so back would agree with that.

He may develop into a strong player over the next few years, but after watching him it was hard to understand why he had an offer at this point in time.

Agree. He looked like a low ceiling guy to me. Solid, but not great upside.

So does the late decision in the article mean he is waiting til spring? That would work out well for us if we don't land Feazell.
