****Official Class of 2017 Recruiting Thread****

@CoreyEvans_10 Top-125 guard Darius McNeill is down to six - SMU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas, UConn, Florida + 2 visits planned hoopseen.com/node/2895

Visits ISU September 3rd.
That's an impressive list of schools although I'm not sure he has offers from all of them.

Yeah, I thought he hadn't received an offer from Texas yet.

[EDIT] Looking at the 247 page, it looks like he doesn't have offers from Texas, UConn, or Florida. That is interesting, and makes me wonder if we have a shot with him if any or all of those schools offer him.

This Joiner vs. Wright deal is definitely interesting.

I kinda thought we moved on from Joiner with the push for McNeill and other guards we have been mentioned with. It would be great to get a Chicago area pipeline going again.

Visits don't mean commitments, but the fact we are bringing a number of HS kids onto campus, it looks like we would definitely take 4 HS recruits and maybe 5 HS kids. Hopefully that means Prohm likes the ability of the non-seniors on the roster.

I'm definitely not one of the people mad about moving on from Wright but I do find it a bit strange we're still recruiting him after passing on Wright & seemingly being in a good spot for McNeill.

Wondering if it's a non-committable and he's willing to wait while Wright wasn't. That or the staff thinks they found their diamond.

Maybe the staff is willing to take both McNeill and Joiner. They have both been described as combo guards, so they could play at the same time in a 3 guard lineup.

Timing is everything on this one. If Wright would have been willing to wait until 9/30 to visit then it wouldn't have been cancelled. He wasn't and now we stopped recruiting him.

If his emphasis is not going to be on the graduate transfer scene but more traditional, he might just figure he may have to pick his year to take some lumps and get the recruiting a little better spaced.

I think we're going to take 3-4 HS kids. Berry said one thing you can't do is make your roster too young so that's why they'll go after a few transfers and JUCOs in the Spring

Just because we are lining up numerous HS visitors doesn't mean we are going to take 4-5 of them. Granted, I think we will take 4 unless our top wants say "no". I don't see us taking 5 unless there are more can't miss guys than we are aware of.
