****Official Class of 2016 Recruiting Thread****

Prohm is outstanding. I think we are better team with him - and it's because of coaching, not recruiting.

I'll reserve my judgement for next year, as I think they will be more telling. That will show his true coaching skill.

Don't get me wrong, I think he'll have no problem, but Fred was one of the best X's and O's (at least offensively) coaches in the game. That wasn't his problem. Keeping the team motivated and focused was probably his biggest in game problem.

Biggest problem was motivation and defense imo

And apparently recruiting high school kids his last two years...

I think they tried on a few guys but lost out. Bottom line, they decided to find the best transfer possible 1 1/2 yrs ago to complete this years' team to be a Final Four team, was going for all the marbles, was told. We got a visit out of Ryan Anderson, but unfortunately he chose Arizona. He would have been a huge piece. Everyone knows how tough it was to convince high school blue chippers to come here when a stacked roster was already in place. The effects of that the next couple of seasons will probably be seen, but to what degree no one knows.

He still has that problem with the Bulls.

He wasted a ton of resources going after blue chippers...would have liked to see him keep going after guys in 50-100 range where we actually had a shot. More Monte/Georges/Thomas...less Vaughn/Diallo.

I like going after some blue chips as long as you have some top 50/100 guys as a backup. Think we would have possibly landed some blue chips if they were confident fred was coming back

Recruiting is a two way street. If blue chip guys are showing interest in you, you don't just say, "oh well you're ranked to high doesn't matter if you like us."

Agree, but it was the apparent lack of any kind of back-up plan that bothers me. Just my two cents...
