****Official Class of 2016 Recruiting Thread****

Every top ranked 5th year transfer was the back up plan for Fred.

Loved Fred's transfer approach to kick starting this program, but who was the last HS kid he landed that is still on the roster? Thomas or Monte?

Sigh..

Why is there still a debate about Fred's recruiting strategy?

It isn't perfect. Just like everything else it has pluses and minuses.

The plus is obvious. The minus is that if you stop, you may need a year or two to rip the bandaid off.

Please let us all know what we're allowed to discuss on CF. We're all anxiously awaiting your instruction. Thanks, boss.

Well 2016 recruits in the 2016 Recruiting thread would be a good start, bud.

Well the class being so big and having so many needs is because of the previous coaching staffs recruiting strategy, seems relevant to me. It dictated the why CSP has to recruit this season

I'll make sure to only respond to posts unless the topic meets the strict definition of the thread title. Thanks. Bud.

It was still the best recruiting strategy that any ISU coach has ever had according to the results he got on the court.

Nobody is putting blame or criticizing Fred. Yes, his strategy worked. But saying Prohm doesn't get a pass to get 'caught up' with recruiting relationships after being hired so late and losing all 5 starters seems unrealistic. I'm sure he's hoping to get that transfer big for next year as well, while hitting the 2017 trail hard.

Prohm has done a great job so far given the circumstances. 2016 class is solid. Our performance thia year could go a long way in attracting a top transfer for next year and top high school recruits for 2017 and beyond. I believe we need a few more years of sustained success to be able to recruit high schoolers at a high level.
