Official Bowl Watch thread

One of the scenarios on ESPN has us going to the Camping World Bowl and Iowa going to the Citrus Bowl, both being in Orlando in the Camping World Stadium after Christmas, Dec. 28 and Jan. 1, respectively, baring some kind of dream scenario for either or both teams getting to a New years 6 bowl, I can't see a better scenario for both the selection committee and fans in Iowa. The state of Iowa would take over the city of Orlando, and you could have an opportunity of an after Xmas vacation with major bowl games featuring Iowa teams bracketing each end to see. The way Iowa and Iowa State fans travel I would think this would be a dream come true for those making that selection.

No thanks. Flights would be so expensive

They could charge whatever they wanted out of Des Moines if both teams are in the same spot. Supply and demand. No thanks
There could be just as many deals as well. Hell I don't know, honestly they can charge whatever they want out of Des Moines no matter what. I dont think the price of the tickets will matter whether we are both there or just one of us, if they do it will not be enough to make a major difference.

There are other, larger airports in the region such as Omaha, Minneapolis, Kansas City that will be cheaper to fly out of. Maybe even St. Louis or Chicago if you don't mind driving a little further. Plus, you were supposedly a country club member. A little flight to Orlando should be nothing for you, right? ;)

One of the last things I would want is to travel somewhere and see a ton of hawk fans. I leave the Midwest to get away from these mouth-breathers.

Oh is that how people get money? Only paying the most for everything?

I hope we can beat Tech, and see if our "stock" rises any. It'll probably be in the same general set of bowls (Cactus, Texas and Camping World), but might improve ISU's shot at Texas Bowl for the time being, putting us above the likely Big 12 Texas teams (TT and TCU).

I don't know if there's a preference for giving bids to Texas schools if given an equal choice from Big 12. Someone more well-versed on bowl-selection can help me there.

Here is the bowl selection order (following CFP and NY6). If we beat Tech, it would be great if OU or UT made the CFP and everyone moves up a spot, giving us a shot at Alamo if we can finish 8-4.

Valero Alamo
Camping World
Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl
AutoZone Liberty
Cactus
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces
