*** Official #5 IOWA STATE vs TCU Game(Day) Thread ***

We're going to beat Kansas by 20. Focus will be alot different come Saturday.
Not if Jefferson dribbles this much.

I'm astounded he has possessions where he dribbles for a lot of the shot clock - turns it over. And then TJ allows it to happen in the next half. We need to have the offense flow through Tamin and Milan.

Just beyond disappointing, up 5 and TCU ends on a 10-0 run because we continued to dribble around or turn it over, this team is full of frauds just like last year and will get bounced second round or sweet 16. Not sure Iowa state will ever make a final 4 tbh. Might as well just try to enjoy making the tourney

Unfortunately, I think you’re right. The body language tonight was not good. The way they ended against Baylor showed a lot. I’m sure they’re exhausted. We’ve seen this before with TJ’s groups. The grind gets to them.
That was the easy part of our schedule?? People were mad they had six days of rest. Now look what's coming up. Imagine how exhausted they're gonna be.

First weekend exit book it. I am so tired of this team underachieving. Losses to Kansas on the road are expected. Losses to BAD Cincinnati and TCU teams on the road are embarrassing.

TCU has been in most every game they've played. They are not GOOD, and we should have beat them, but they are not BAD.

It's a weird reality we occupy as fans where (prior to this debacle tonight) my team was 21-2, ranked in the top five most of the team, and still I wasn't sure if we're actually all that good. Seems to be a rather common sentiment among our fanbase.
Well our noncon SOS was ass yet again this year. Yes Purdue and St John's are good teams...Iowa is decent but outside of that we didn't challenge ourselves at all.

Look at Arizona's noncon schedule. They prepared themselves for the gauntlet that is the Big 12.

As tempting as it is, I’m not sure the Joshua Jefferson 9 post dribble, almost lose it twice before throwing it away offense is a winning plan.

No words. Extremely disappointed to see yet again just how low the floor is for this team. Scored around 30 less than our average... are we just terrible at execution or do we not have plays designed to actually get Milan open?

I mean, we blitzed Purdue and looked pretty good against some lower-level league opponents. But we struggled against Iowa. We eked out a win against St. John’s. Against the good teams, we haven’t clearly been better with one exception. We got smoked at KU and didn’t look like we belonged. The tough part of our schedule wasn’t supposed to have started, yet. The way they played tonight, finishing 11-7 or similar in league play isn’t out of the realm of possibility. That would be a huge disappointment.

I hate to pile on but if you look at their big wins, they shot the lights out against Purdue like out of their skin good to pull away, they caught St. John's early, Pitino teams usually gel later in the year, and the Iowa game was a slog until the end. Every time they've been punched in the mouth in conference play they've wilted, the 3 road losses and just about against Baylor. When they've won they didn't face much adversity. I'm just really questioning the mental strength of this team right now.
