Frustrating thing with Tamin is he can sense the moment, just can't always finish. ie he had a 3 ball that would have been a dagger and bricked it.

Just a bad, bad game in all respects.
Can't blame it from a "road game" perspective.
One could hear a pin drop throughout. Hardly Hilton, hardly Lawwrence.
JJ drives us ALL nuts at times via plenty of turnovers. I don't get the staffs reluctance to "tone him down."
The occasional Royce-type pass is a thing of beauty, yet for every one of these incredible tosses, there's 2-3 to's that leave us shaking our heads.
Tamin. Less than 30% from three.
He isn't improving in this regard.
Yes, I love Tamin, but damn, I'm hardly optimistic when he shoots a 3.
Blake. Yuh never know if he's gonna show up, both ends.
Toure. A LOT to work on offensively.
Awesome d.
Heise. Yuh never know, offensively.
Batemon. I predicted a strong showing from him last night I'll refrain from looking at his stats.
MM. He'll shake outta this 3 pt "slump," hopefully this weekend.
68% ft shooting.... my high school did a bit better. Good night.
We gave up a run in the first half after taking a 9 point lead, something like a 10-0 run, offense bogged down, ball wasn't moving, needed a reset. What are we saving timeouts for if not to try to stop runs? We don't get bonus points for having them at end of game, and they didn't help us get good shots in end of game situations?TCU took time outs which gave ISU time to meet as well.
And, gave up after an early 9 point lead?
What does that even mean?

Our guards not handling ball pressure well is definitely part of the problem. Combined with teams getting physical with Momcilovic when he's running around screens, our timing is way off and we're running offense a few feet beyond 3 point line. We need to mix in more back cuts to alleviate some of the pressure.Listening to the podcast after the game, the talk is because we don't move the ball enough, that is why we didn't score. Generally yes but we are trying to pass. We are getting pressured and pushed out. Seems to me the more we pass, the more we are turning the ball over (sans Jefferson going hero ball).
How people are beating our defense is driving past our man, then skipping it cross court for the open 3. We don't have anybody that can drive past the guy consistently except for Jefferson and Nelson. Nelson doesn't play (thanks TJ, Sincerely Demarion Watson) and you are holding your breath with Jefferson.
I'd say we had timeouts left unused, when we did use some late we didn't even get good sets out of them, and the two runs where we needed a reset cost us the game. I've been a coach for nearly 30 years, some of that at the DI level (not basketball). Two things I can assure you from my experiences are that shouting out during live play is more of a distraction than a help, and coaches aren't perfect. Especially DI millionaire coaches who are fair game to be discussed on their teams message boards.Do you not think the staff of a D1 basketball team isn't calling things out during action like you can hear Otz doing all game? Or that they're not calculating things off of TV timeouts when they can also talk to the team?
If they used them when you think they should, what would you say if there's only 1 left in the 2nd half? Poor usage?
While technically I was wrong, never doubt Iowa State at Hilton again. We're going to beat Kansas by 20. Focus will be alot different come Saturday.
