Great timing with tens of thousands of planes descending on the state. Most of WI is in 'limit time outside' or 'stay inside' advisories currently. Might get better later today.

As bad as it is in the Twin Cites, it's far worse near the north shore. Here's the sensor from the Duluth Canal area

I just got straight up poured on out of nowhere. Solid half and hour or so of rain.We have a sunshine rain in Ankeny right now.
I'm guessing there were a lot of cars sitting in parking lots with their windows cracked open to deal with the heat.I just got straight up poured on out of nowhere. Solid half and hour or so of rain.
That will make even more "sticky" once it is done raining. We have a sunshine rain in Ankeny right now.

*cracked as in being down a bit to vent air not actually cracked

Maybe that’s like their sauna time as they’re driving awayRelated to that, sort of: I went to the LifeTime fitness on Wednesday. It was in the mid-90's. The location has a parking lot but also a ramp. I parked in the parking ramp while other people parked in the lot in the blazing sun. Got done with workout and car temp was pretty tolerable when I got in. Don't get the parking in the full sun and baking your interior to 100 plus when you don't have to. People are weirdly obsessed with getting as close to the front door as possible.
Nope. A very specific procedure. Basically fly to a point and get in line as close as a half mile in trail, ATC talks and you confirm by rocking your wings. They split you to two different runways which have dots painted on them so they can land multiple aircraft at a time on the same runway. That is how general aviation makes Oshkosh the busiest airport in the world for the next week and a half. There are a number of great videos on YouTube etc. of it. Just look up Airventure FISK VFR ApproachMy FIL was telling us about his buddy who flew up for that from AZ - how the hell do they coordinate that many planes going to one place in such a short time? Call & reserve a landing time or something?
