No "flakes" in Marion...I find that hard to believe. Not a single flake in Marion
Temps starting to drop pretty much right on forecast timing. Not a single flake in Marion
Highly unlikely.
Ankeny is weak.Ankeny schools are closed today, but I don't see any other central Iowa districts with closure announcements yet.
Well, it's a Friday, there's several inches of new snow on the ground with 1 degree wind chill, and as we head into March they haven't used very many snow days thus far. You could say Ankeny is smart. Let the three day weekend begin.Ankeny is weak.
I’m north of there a ways and I measured 13” multiple places in my driveway and there was no drifting.
Yep, this one sucks. No brainer to cancel school.I didn't measure but we had at least the 8-10 they were calling for in Ames, maybe more. First 6" is super wet and heavy and everything else is powder from when the temp dropped. Took me 25 minutes longer than normal with the snowblower and that was after scooping before bed last night. Mornings like this make me regret buying a corner lot. Neighbor with a single stage electric blower was out before me and still working when I got done. Be careful out there this morning folks.
I have a single stage electric ego and this is the first snow I’ve ever struggled with it. Battery died and I’ve hardly used 50% in the past.I didn't measure but we had at least the 8-10 they were calling for in Ames, maybe more. Just brutal. I have an Ariens compact 24 and even it was struggling towards the end because of all this **** that was freezing in the augers and impeller.I have a single stage electric ego and this is the first snow I’ve ever struggled with it. Battery died and I’ve hardly used 50% in the past.
