Very thankful this cold weather held off until after transfer portal visit season
My dad (RIP) always told the story that when he was a kid one of their normal practice's was to pitch the horse manure onto a wagon, haul it near the well pit and pitch it back off each fall in a line from the well back down to the barn. This was an attempt to provide extra insulation over the hand dug waterline in the event that a cold winter would drive the frost down enough to freeze them. Many many years later the galvanized pipe started leaking so they were going to dig it up for repair and found that where they piled the manure each year was about ten feet away from the line the pipe actually followed. He said it must have worked though, cause the line never froze.
I know one thing. I am not going to try frying an egg on the sidewalk today.
We are supposed to get freezing rain and ice here in the DFW area and that will paralyze a large southern city. Their ice removal is basically warmer weather Just praying we don’t lose power
