So I power washed the old wood deck and need some dry sunny days before I can stain it.
First I'd need 2-3 days without rain and than a another day or two to stain it and another day desired for drying. Like that is going to happen. Maybe next month?

So unbelievably sick of this weather in Iowa. This summer has sucked. Rains every dadgum day and when it doesn't it's 110 heat index. WTF.

Actually, for the most part, all the thunderstorms have been in the night all summer. This summer overall has been mild. We’ve been conditioned to think 88 and humid is unbearable.
I’ve come to realize that the amount of stress you have about rain and storms is directly proportional to whether you have to be concerned about water in your home. If you are up on a hill with no history of water coming in, evening thunderstorms are nice to fall asleep to. If you’ve ever had water in your basement, that leads to a sleepless night. And I can see why this summer is getting old.

Outdoor staining projects are such a hassle - requiring a goldilocks scenario of weather (temp, humidity, precip, and WIND) to perfectly coincide with your availability (and motivation) to complete the project.
