Dang! That’s crazy. Far different than the half inch predicted today and the 10-15 mph breeze predicted.Yeah. We need some of these to toughen up the gene pool.

Drive belt? I think mine is a shift drive. I’m going to have to look. It is pretty old though.Of course I went to use the snowblower yesterday to clear the sidewalk on an empty lot in our neighborhood and the drive belt fell off the drive pulley, and I can't get the damn thing back on without taking the blower housing off the frame. WHY ARIENS, WHY?!
Not snowing up here on the IA/MN border (just west of 35) and not a lot of snow. Depending where you live 35 to 90 and over might be the clearest route.Wife is supposed to drive to Madison Wisconsin area from West Des Moines at around 2pm. That's probably not a great idea I think.
I've read it!! I agree. This a good book if you are interested.

Belt to pulley and then a friction disc engages when I tell it to "go baby go". Seemingly a horrible design, but what do I know?Drive belt? I think mine is a shift drive. I’m going to have to look. It is pretty old though.

The Super should ignore the parents. There's nothing keeping a parent from going to pick their kid up early themselves is there? Or keeping them home for a day if they think it's too dangerous. Instead, the whole district has to placate the most paranoid parent.Schools don’t need to toughen up, parents need to stop complaining to schools if/when they don’t adjust to weather. If a school starts on time while others delay or a school goes the entire day when neighbors dismiss early, you can bet that Supt will get tons of angry phone calls and emails.
There is a service (Storm Vista) which has all the metrological professional models but it costs money . That’s what I use.Is there an app you can recommend for us novices?

Not a bust for me. These TV forecasters like to follow the American Model (GFS) instead of the much more accurate European Model. The European has been extremely consistent on each run since Wednesday evening. Now this one I think you can call a bust .
Remember that as I posted above somewhere, I’m talking about tomorrow and this afternoon. Ames will probably get an inch or so this afternoon before it ends. Tomorrow basically everywhere in central IA and all of the state will get an inch or less ending by about Noon. Not a bust for me. The blame goes to the local “meteorologists”.So, how do we get school superintendents to use the European model? Is this a problem of them not understanding the metric system or something?
