***Official 2025 Weather Thread***

I keep reading where it's dangerous for people of a certain age to shovel.

My 5 year old better start warming up. I'm going to the bullpen
My 5yo is obsessed with working. He was devastated once all the leaves fell and he had no more to rake up. He was wrecked when we only got a dusting of snow that melted once it hit the concrete. He has a fleet of his own personal vacuums he uses for tidying up around the house. For Christmas he got coveralls, "worker gloves", a hat, a shovel, and a new vacuum of course.

I generally really enjoy the variability of weather around here and like the bigger events. That being said I am not displeased with this one going south. The kids need to go back to school on Monday. Give me a couple of weeks to like them again before they have a snow day.

My son is similar. Yesterday morning we had this conversation:

Son: "Since you have to work today, I'll shovel the driveway."
Me: "Thanks! You may want to wait until it's done snowing so you don't have to shovel twice." (this was at ~9am)
Son: blank stare, utterly confused why you wouldn't want to shovel twice in the same day

Once the basketball schedule came out, my friend and I were joking that there would be a blizzard for sure the day of the Baylor game. For some reason her favorite home game is always Baylor and I wasn't going to miss a game honoring the 2000 and 2001 teams. We joked about having to camp out in Ames for 3 days just to make it ;). So part of me thinks that the storm is going to speed up and move north over the next 12 hours.

Travel safe. You may get into some nasty stuff if you delay.

Tell my wife that it's time to go!

On the other hand, my brother-in-law is finishing up a brisket. I'd take some of that for the road.

Originally I had hoped to convince him that we should pick up some last minute tickets and go to the game. Mother nature decided that would not be happening.
