Look at the radar, it’s fighting a ton of dry air currently. You are right, it’s still early. However, radar is not impressive so far.

This is exactly what they have been predicting the entire time….So many amateur weather forecasters in here, lol. Maybe it does but they’ve nailed it so far.

Just scooped before heading out to work probably about 1.5" in Ames so far.

Side note - I ******* hate scooping snow when it's this cold.

Seems like maybe 4-5" in Indianola so far. Very, very fluffy. Just scooped out the main part of the driveway because it didn't seem worth breaking out the snowblower mid-storm.

Hey weather experts around here, I scored free tickets to the game Saturday. How much of a pain in the ass is going to be to get to Ames from NE Iowa? Most of my drive is 20 to 35.

We're supposed to get more snow Friday evening and Saturday. I don't think it's supposed to be that much though. Maybe an inch or two.

I think the Friday/Saturday snow is going to be the heavy slushy stuff though.

Maybe 2-3" so far. 30 miles east of Ames. Very east to move.

Toro Snowmaster, a bit of a hybrid between 1-2 stage. Technically a 1 stage. In all but the worst snows it runs circles around my old (and neighbors) higher dollar 2 stage machines. One of those 95/100 times you're clearly money ahead with, but its not terrible in the other 5 either. The only time I missed the old monster was that big snow last year, but I didn't miss it that much.

What are you guys even talking about? It’s been pretty on par for what they predicted. Still snowing and will continue to do so for quite some time into the afternoon…

Any moisture is good although it's too bad the ground is so frozen so it can't soak in much.

Hopefully it leads to some creeks/rivers being flushed out a bit at least.

I ended up buying a pristine TORO snow master off Facebook Marketplace for $600, guy said he used it twice and bought in 2022. I have been dying to use it since the day I bought it.
