Just googled Gary Garner, drake coach from 1981-88. He is 81 and retired in 2023 from an NAIA school. Incredible coaching almost to his 80th birthday.

I haven't seen Michigan play much but I'm surprised UCSD's team of D2 kids can hang with them athletically. Seems like UCSD can get the shots they want every trip.
Drake hung with Missouri. All the real dudes in basketball (at their ages) are playing in the pros. College basketball doesn't have the gap football does. Especially in a single elimination tournament.
UCSD deserves a call here, seems like Michigan is getting everything right now.
I knew drake was bad in the 90s-early 2000s. But they would give Mississippi Valley State a run for bottom in those years.

They had a 5 year stretch where they won 7 total league games. Abysmal doesn't even begin to describe it.
Michigan doesn’t really have athletes this year just two 7ft guys who are often matchup nightmares especially wolf who is often playing point at 7ft
