Again. Why not IL Suzuki to let him get his wrist right. Call up Mo Baller and let him DH a few games so he gets a taste of the big leagues. Makes sense to me!
Could be. I think the Cubs played Brujan in CF a bit during spring training. So maybe that's how he sticks. Position versatility and speed.
My big brain idea that would make more sense on MLB the show than in real life. Hoerner to third, Busch to second, call up Ballesteros at first.
Unfortunately, with Hoerner's off-season surgery I would be surprised if we even see him play on the left side of the infield this season.
According to Baseball Savant, among 21 players with 50+ throws at 2B in 2025, Hoerner has the third lowest average throw speed (73.5mph) and second lowest max throw (75mph). Comparatively, in 2024 Nico's max throw velocity was 85mph.
Throw velocity isn't the end-all, as a reference Swanson's 2025 max throw is 82.3mph which ranks 16th best among 25 SS with a minimum 50 throws.
