If Horton is pain free, he has to pitch in game 5. Add him to the roster and give an illness to Civale or Soroka or Brown?

His 15 days is up tomorrow and he was interviewed ahead of game 3 saying he has zero pain.

Still seems like a stretch to me. I bet Counsell won't want to pitch a rookie coming off an injury in a playoff elimination game. I think it would be great if Horton pitches but I doubt it will happen.

Kinda think the same thing. At this point, hope that Rea can get it done and then pitch Horton game 1 of the NLCS. Pressure has flipped to being on the Brewers. Cubs have to be feeling confidence growing in their offense. Should be interesting. Nice to be this deep into October regardless of course.

I don't think Shota is an option either after that meltdown in game 2. Taillon would be going on 3 days rest. Horton isn't coming off the DL into that environment.

I almost wonder if we start Civale and do a bullpen game, Brewers don't really have good options either.

To me Rea is the option with Shota ready if he doesn't have it early. Shota just has not looked good early in games to trust right now. Could see an opener for Shota possibly too. It's going to be all hands on deck regardless with an off day and facing elimination. Rea with 60 pitches on 4 days rest he should be fine. I still think it was stupid for Craig to use him that game and not have him available for game 4 if he was needed.
