And so it begins, again. Driving home tonight and saw the Mpls skyline was obscured by smoke from wildfires.
Checked the interweb and, yup, air quality alert.

I know it's coming but it gives me such dread for the summer and beyond.

2 inches of rain in Indianola since 4PM
Now up to 2.4 inches in 14 hours. It was crazy watching this on the radar for that town, storms just kept reforming over and over again.
My rain gauge is up to right at 3" as of 6:10 amNow up to 2.4 inches in 14 hours.
And supposed to rain mostly all day today. My rain gauge is up to right at 3" as of 6:10 am
My sister mentioned this in the family chat last night and I was all "WTF isn't Canada still covered in snow?"And so it begins, again. Driving home tonight and saw the Mpls skyline was obscured by smoke from wildfires.

Todays rain looks pretty minimal. And supposed to rain mostly all day today.
Wow, that is amazing, considering in Ames we got a short one-tenth overnight. None yesterday with highs in the lower 80s.My rain gauge is up to right at 3" as of 6:10 am
Completely untrained observer take: it seems like when areas experience weather patterns that create a lot of rain, that moisture feeds into the fronts that pass through and create more rain.As of yesterday morning, there was no rain in the 10 day forecast. Then it rained most of the night and there is now rain predicted on and off all day today. WTF.
Yeah, the storms just kept reforming to our west so it would pour, stop, pour, stop. I think I had some weeds that grew a foot overnight lolWow, that is amazing, considering in Ames we got a short one-tenth overnight. None yesterday with highs in the lower 80s.

We were traveling back from the east and I was checking the weather a couple hours out from Des Moines to see what we might run into when we got closer. Saw that cell sitting over Indianola. Got to around Mitchellville and checked again and that darn thing was still sitting there. Really odd.It was bizarre. You could look in about 3 different directions and see bright blue skys. But the rain just sat over Indianola for a good 2 hours and poured.
The good thing is they've been easy to pull since the ground is wet.Yeah, the storms just kept reforming to our west so it would pour, stop, pour, stop. I think I had some weeds that grew a foot overnight lol
I wish this was fall and they were talking football.
