I've done it before, not by choice. It rained all week and I was leaving for vacation - it was either mow super early once the rain stopped or my yard was going to look like **** for a whole week while I was gone.
That’s when you hire someone to do it and not ruin your neighbors weekend. Don’t make your problem their problem.

I told my parents to buy an EGO, so they did. Now they are going to return it today. It did half of their drive and sidewalk before it died and they just have a normal suburban corner lot. The neighbors ended up finishing up for them.

This doesn't sound quite right, my neighbors have an EGO blower and routinely blow their driveway and the entire sidewalk for us and the neighbors.

Also, am I an ******* for getting mad at my neighbors for doing my walk? I have a snowblower that I enjoy using, so don't take that away from me!

I would never let them know I'm upset, and will thank them when I see them, but internally I'm mad.
I always do my neighbors so I can 180 in their driveway.

We always do our neighbor’s sidewalk. It is tiny compared to ours. He is my husband’s age and has had two heart attacks and a stroke. He always thanks us but now I am wondering if he is secretly mad.

my snowblower got a workout this morning with that heavy snow. I almost killed it clearing the end of my driveway.

Similar situation for me here in CR. Used the lawn tractor with blade, but even what was already down was so wet and heavy pushing it was a nightmare. Back and forth a million times, small bites.

Have a snowblower too, but the bulk of the driveway it can't be blown far enough. Neighbor has a wood panel fence right up against the driveway pad on one side, and my 4+ car wide garage on the other. Have to blow it about 3 times to get to the end, or push back and forth a million times. Just frustrating. If the neighbor was a **** I might just blow it into his yard, but they are nice people and their beagles run around back there.

And I'm gonna have to do it again around noon, and again around 5. At least I can wfh when not on the mower...

I wonder if they are using just one battery. I have an EGO snowblower single stage. I use 2 batteries to do my average sized suburban driveway. If they are only using one battery it's not going to get the job done on one charge, especially in this snow. That's why the single stage snowblowers have 2 battery bays. I'm guessing 2 stage may have even more battery bays.

I use to try and do it with one battery and could get most the way done with a light snow. Heavy snow not even close, and I would get issues with the battery overheating.

Need input from weather guru's here.
We are supposed to fly out of DSM early Sat morning, and It's really important that we depart no later than Saturday.
Is this next system, Thurs. Night - Sat. going to be another Des Moines heavy snow and wind event?
It appears Thurs afternoon will be a window of opportunity, (weather wise) I can change my flts. just wondering If I should?

Spent an hour on my drive (normal suburban size)...and still not done. The blower could do the first couple passes fine but then as the snow thats been displaced compresses, it clogged every few feet. I've never once before had to unclog it but I bet I did it 50 times just now. Just awful.

Lol. Sounds good on paper but doesn't work in real life. Reputable lawn care companies around here can't just pencil someone in randomly on couple days notice; the good ones stopped accepting new clients last year they were so booked out.

This thing isn't close to being done, so it doesn't make since to snow blow yet.

If this were 100% fluff that makes complete sense, but it sounds like there's a layer of wet snow below the dry stuff falling now. Most people might end up working on their driveways for twice as long, which makes the downsides to running a first/second pass a moot point.

My snowblower has giant balls. Not worried.

my snowblower got a workout this morning with that heavy snow. I almost killed it clearing the end of my driveway.

Was clearing the end of a neighbor's driveway and City of Ames guy was plowing our street in JD4440 he saw me, came back and pushed the big pile out of the way for me. He got a double thumbs up from me!!

If you don't get your car cleared off or if you parked it on the street.... good luck as it's going to get colder out and when this crap freezes.... have fun!!!
