***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

even if we get 5-6 inches of power snow on top of what we just got with 40-50MPH winds with the temps is going to be dangerous. Does anyone know if Okie state came today?

Just woke up for a bit with trouble sleeping and looked outside and it doesn't seem like we have gotten anything in Ames??
It's here in Ankeny right now at 3:21A. Wind's not blowing SUPER hard like I've generally heard before, but harder than what I heard from the first storm this week.

Snowing pretty heavy in Ames right now. saw that heavy band is backing up from Fort Dodge area to Ames right now. Wife is sick and needs more Sprite. :(

Looks to be about 2-3" of new stuff in NW Johnston this morning, will be watching it accumulate out the home office all day. Poor kids gonna be locked inside the next 4 days, yay!

Of this Top-10 list, the only two that had multiple, separate 6"+ events were 1923, and 1893.

1888 was 17" all in one day.

The top spot contains the Des Moines single day record, with 19.8 on New Year's Day of 1942.

5.4” needed to enter the top 3, 7.9” needed to take the 2nd spot. It can be done!
