After listening to David Kaplan on Miller and Condon yesterday, they are trying to be respectful to Kyle for what he has done and give him a chance to get right, but something clearly is wrong. He has even less velocity than before and can't hit his spots, so he is getting crushed by hitters.
notbeing able to hit his spots is hurting him more I think

Be nice getting a good Smyly back for Milwaukee next week. 3 perfect 5 Ks last outing. Send Cuas down and Hendricks will be the only weak link. He likely won't see anything but garbage innings until he reaches his 10 years of service time.

Smyly replaces Cuas
Wicks in a week or so replaces Hodge
Merryweather mid June not sure but it's nice their isn't an obvious answer ( except Hendricks).

Big seven game road stretch with Cardinals getting hot and then Brewers. Need to get the bats going

It's crazy they did not immediately issue a warning after the 2nd pitch and Marty had to be ejected before they finally issued a warning. Two pitches aimed right at the batter seemed pretty intentional and even if they weren't ump still needs to issue a warning to make sure things don't escalate.

I miss the lineup that used to grind out at bats and drive up the opposing starting pitcher’s pitch count, not this lineup that swings at the first couple pitches every at bat and lets pitchers go 6-7 innings every game

Herrera seems like a pretty capable catcher. That throw to get Suzuki even having to knock it down first was impressive. Funny how the Cards have gotten hot lately with Contreras on the IL. Will be interesting if the pitching takes a step back when he's behind the plate again.

Counsel wondering what he got himself into yet? This team can’t stay healthy and can’t get out of their own way when they are in games.
