***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

Explain this to me by yelling at me via a youtube video.

The warm sector has eroded meaning the chance of convective activity is pretty much gone. Already starting to see some clearing in far SW Iowa that should it make it's way across a good chunk of the southern half of the state. Some far southern areas may tickle the 60 degree mark today.

And looks like there is no firm way to project snowfall and road conditions yet for Wed-Thurs?

Always nice when the southern areas get tickled.....

Any precip likely wouldn't start until late on Wednesday so I am not too worried about travel then. 5-8" seems to be a pretty good bet in the main swath.

That warm sector was able to squeak out just enough lift to spawn a small thunderstorm in western Linn County

The thing with this one is the low is right on us so there is ample shear to get things spinning IF things develop later.

I’ve had my hopes brought up and dreams dashed like 4 times over the past 48 hours for a severe weather day. If we learned anything last week, it’s that overperformqnce happens.

SW Linn county...we had a few crashes of thunder that shook the house this morning. My kids came running out of their rooms...felt like April!
