TJ has picked his 3 priorities and until those shake out you won’t see much reaching out for new players
Kinda follow you, but there's no sure thing he gets all 3, so I don't see why we still wouldn't be doing some "reaching out to new players". Especially looking at some bigtime ones who are just getting announced.

I think Gilbert would be a good piece, and would fit defensively, but would make landing a pure shooter/scorer with one of the other schollies that much more important.

Looks like he's a capable shooter, but still only made 1 more from 3 on just 10 fewer attempts than Jaz, and I don't think anyone would say Jaz was a "shooter". We have the defense thing down...let's get some scorers!
Watch his highlights - we don't have anyone like him. He is good at finishing in transition, good in pick n roll, can get to the rim and hit mid range shots. He can score.

We are not going to waste time going after guys that we likely have zero shot with. There’s no point in wasting the time and resources when you can put them into realistic prospects.

We have, everything just isn't publicized. New one 2 days ago was Latrell Wrightsell Jr

Dickinson to Maryland????
What planet is that a huge step up for him? Total joke.
Dickinson's from DC area and Willard had a good 1st year at MD. Dickinson's game has seemed to stagnate at Michigan.

If TT can make Final 4 with the right coach, I would think MD can as well.

Gilbert could grow into a good three level scorer at the high major level. Needs to do it more consistently but the potential is there.

vs #21 Dayton - 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3PT)

vs Minnesota - 17 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 3PT)

vs Washington St - 25 points (10-15 FG, 3-4 3PT)

@ #25 San Diego St - 19 points (7-12 FG, 0-1 3PT)
19 points against SDSU with zero 3 pointers made is really impressive. If he commits might have to watch highlights from that game.

This staff is consistent. They evaluate prospects that they have a connection with and once they gain some traction they go all in to close. It has worked well these past two years.
for the most part, but we lost out when we didnt get Green and as CW stated we couldn't afford Basile or lost out on VanDerplos, etc. wouldn't have hurt to have a few more guys to reach out to...but I get what you're saying

If they return Alexander, Scheierman, Kumala, and Kalk... It doesn't really matter..

Their lineup would be 6'6", 6'4", 6'7", 6'7", and 7'1"

That is NBA size with all 5 able to shoot 3's. Preseason Top 5 guarantee
you sure Scheierman has another year???

Did we lose out or did they miss out?
Basile although a decent season personally, his team didn't make the ncaa tournament.
Vanderplas ended up being a bench player avg only 7.5 pts a game.
I feel we had a far more successful season with the guys we got in the portal even if we overachieved

Seems like we are mostly contacting players we have recruited in the past or guys we have a regional connection with. Lots of Wisconsin natives and guys we have existing ties with.

Testifying
Michigan was pretty young this year minus Hunter. Love going there is interesting.
