Lawn was starting to get a bit crunchy, now I am going to have to mow twice this week.

I may come to regret not mowing yesterday afternoon

Since I mow three of my neighbors yards, it's all about timing. If I you know its going to rain out, I will get out and mow before it does. This way it will need mowed again in 4 days or less. Nice little side gig for a few extra bucks, plus I get the exercise. I will also trim their yard after each 3-4 mowing's. One neighbor gave me a $50 gift card to Wallabee's and another one gave me $100 for going above and beyond and mulching all their sycamore leaves. I hate those huge leaves!

Some weather history.

On this date in 1984 there was a tornado outbreak in the midwest. One tornado was on the ground for 127 miles from northern Missouri into southern and eastern Iowa killing 2 and injuring 63.

And later that night along with other tornado's in southern Wisconsin was the infamous Barneveld F5 that killed 36 and injured more than 200.

Weather history

This date in 1976 was the first of two days of significant severe weather in Iowa. Tomorrow the 13th being the worst with the famous twin tornado's spinning in opposite directions, and used as a model by Dr. Fujita for years when studying tornado's. The town of Jordan was basically destroyed.

And in 2001 on this date hail the size of golf balls and baseballs fell for almost 25 minutes in eastern Dallas and western Polk counties. It's the first time I remember hearing car dealers in West Des Moines and on the Merle Hay "auto mile" use the slogan "hail of a sale" to move damaged vehicles.

At least the inventory is low...I'm sure the insurance companies have reduced premiums due to lower risk... 1655057172477.png

Dog wanted out at 7:30 and thought I might as well grab his lead and get his walk in. He peed, drug me back to the house, picked up his dog bed and drug it in front of an air conditioning vent. If we are walking today, guessing it will be at night. He is a wimp compared to previous dogs. First black dog we have had, could that actually make any difference? I don’t like walking at night so I may need to get him up at 6:00 for the next few weeks (or rest of the summer).
