How would you compare the two? Other than the Summit League isn't near the MVC, I don't think.
Individual games are tough to really decipher but the two games he played against the MVC this year.

Missouri State (t2nd MVC): 5 pts, 4 rebs
Bradley (5th MVC): 10 pts, 14 rebs

AJ vs those two teams:

Missouri State: 33 pts, 4 rebs & 21 pts, 3 rebs, 7 assists
Bradley: 30 pts, 3 assists & 18 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assists

Not adding 3 guards, we need another big.

I'd rather go all-in on a 4 guard lineup than add another Ward or Jones.

If we can get a Basile or BVP replacement. That would be great

Williams - Lipsey/King
Green - Gabe/Grill/King
Holmes - Gabe/Grill
Jaz - King(2nd semsester)/Watson
Ward - Jones/Jaz/King

still 1 scholly after I believe for a 4/5

Omaha Biliew would work if he reclassified to the ‘22 class.

Oh AJ is a better player, who played much better competition but this kid is good. Both are guys their teams played through but in different ways. Scheierman can play and start in the big 12 but he's probably going to be a bit more one dimensional, specialized role player than the do everything player he is at SDSU. AJ is your bell cow.

Can we trade him for Grill?

He's a guard/wing. But he does help with rebounding for sure, maybe not as much as IB did but more than your average guard.
And I mistakenly thought he was a point guard. So regardless, as of now we have no one on the roster or known visitor that is a 'true point guard' , other than Williams who played pg alot at Temple? Is this correct?

Yep, Williams easily led Temple in assist rate IIRC. It wouldn't shock me if he had similar to slightly above the production Tyrese had this past year if he gets a similar role. He may not have as much upside, but 11/5/3 on not amazing efficiency isn't that much of a jump for Williams. Plus, Williams also has 3 to play, he's a young guy with some upside and was known as a defensive menace for Temple.

Holmes played a bit of PG this past year and has okay metrics as far as that goes, could definitely be an upgrade as a secondary ball-handler next year if he's a Cyclone. Given that Brockington was probably the second best option without having much of a right hand, I think Holmes can do that relatively well.

Obviously, if Green ends up a Cyclone, he'll handle the ball plenty as well. Still would think his future is likely as a combo or shooting guard and he'd likely play off the ball more here than UNI, but a backcourt of Williams/Green/Holmes (with Gabe obviously still involved) gives ISU more competent ball-handling. Throw in the freshman as wildcards, could see a big jump in that regard as a unit.

I don’t know if that’s true about rebounding help. Last year he was far closer to Hunter and Grill in rebounding than he was IB.

Are you thinking of Council?
