Agree with first but Bain never have I really trusted the guy a ton, he gets a lot of things wrong.
I like all the tweets of guys going into the portal. It’s nice to see who’s out there but we aren’t just going to go out and grab some “name” guy because of his stats. We’ll get guys who the staff has connections with from earlier recruiting or high school coaches and the like.

I agree from the Iowa State side but I've got a pretty good idea of who his source is for UNI Basketball and that would be rock solid.
Maybe I am way off base with this thinking, I think Iowa State is in a good position with AJ Green until we see the staff start contacting players similar to him. Guard who has the ability to handle / play off the ball and shoot the 3 is one of the biggest needs for this roster. I don't think I have seen players like that linked to Iowa State yet.
We're not in any position really until he removes his name from NBA consideration and formally announces he is grad transferring somewhere. If / when that happens, yes, we will be in a very very good spot.

I could see Memphis players getting ready leave like cockroaches when the lights come one with the NCAA sanctions looming.
Basile would be a huge get. We need tons and tons of help in the frontcourt and he's a pretty darn good player with a decent outside shot.

It'll be over a month before AJ even starts to look at a decision. He's going to go all the way through the NBA process. he's going to field European offers, leaving UNI isn't a lock (family all still in CF and serious GF plays volleyball at UNI).
There's nothing to read anything into at this point. This isn't going to resolve itself quickly in any way. He's an incredibly smart guy that is going to fully weigh all of his options and not just jump into something.
I don’t know if I am remembering this right but wasn’t McNeil the one Huggins was always on about not playing defense and no effort? If so would not be a great fit
