Iowa needs to be prepared Wednesday as it is setting up to be a possible outbreak. A saving grace for Iowa could be lower dew points than the tri state tornado outbreak a few days ago.

Des Moines is saying 3-5 on Saturday as of today. I want the snow to be honest. December was too warm.
Is freezing rain/slippery roads going to be an issue in the Des Moines area tomorrow at around 10:00 AM?
That would probably be the tail end of it, if at all. I think temperatures should be over 32 by then
I used to love winter, but with each and every passing year I hate it more and more. When I had my septoplasty several years back now, the surgeon also found mucous cysts in my right sinus cavity right next to my nose. He also said he couldn't remove them because they would just come back, and likely much worse than they already are. My last several weeks have I have been a living, breathing sinus headache, especially with the weather we're having right now, and not a damn thing I take makes the pain go away,
My eccentric neighbor was out mowing yesterday here in Ames. He also put a car in the garage, a car that sits out all year along with the fact that none of his cars ever goes into their empty garage, since it is going to snow. Last year he moved two of the three cars to the Kohls parking lot when we were about to get a big snow, which the lot is 3 blocks from where he lives. He has a snowblower but never uses it. Whenever I try to talk to him he will never look me face to face, he always looks off to the side.
Anyone have the early predictions on the New Years Day system? Is there a good chance of measurable snow in central iowa?

So what are we talking here? 6 inches? Or is this something that could bring a foot or more?
