Well I just shoveled my driveway in Ames and did not have a heart attack, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.

So glad it wasn't the widow-maker heavy, wet crap like a few weeks ago.

Conversation today in Iowa. "How much did you get" Me "About 11 inches" Them " I am sure I had more than that" Typical Iowan talk, just like rain totals. Someone tells you there rain gauge had a different amount than your and act puzzled by your claim, no matter what the amount.

You know, it's like that every where in America. At least in rural areas/small town areas. At least people talk to each other. Not just a bunch of phone zombies.

Nothing beats the patio table as a snow depth meter if you clear it each storm. I keep mine uncleared to measure the snow pack. No snow in the norhtland but still have good snow pack.

I see grass and 2 foot drifts in WDM. So let's average it out and say 1 foot

Probably had close to 9 inches, but rural roads are drifted shut like last week. Or they are bare. One good thing about having a tractor, can get dug out and clear roads.

Yes, this! I am curious how the system that is going to dump ten freaking feet of snow in the Sierra's is going to affect us.

I would assume the rain shadow effect has some impact on this? It probably doesn’t extend the effect for thousands of miles certainly, I just feel like if a storm system is impacting us, it’s usually a clipper from the Pacific NW or the Southwestern US

Well who gets married in February?

The fiance's oldest boy is going to be shipping out to the Army in February, so we put this together in like 5 weeks so he could be there for it. Going to do a big reception thing this summer outdoors.
