Still some issues, but they are getting some official storm reports out...slowly. Should see more fill in overnight, another big wave maybe between 7 AM and 8 AM.

What's up with that yellow pocket around Dubuque? I blame @ClonesTwenty1. I hope he hits every red light and experiences wet socks this week.

Conversation today in Iowa. "How much did you get" Me "About 11 inches" Them " I am sure I had more than that" Typical Iowan talk, just like rain totals. Someone tells you there rain gauge had a different amount than your and act puzzled by your claim, no matter what the amount.

I worked at the Casey’s in my small hometown in high school. I always chuckled at the variations between what people had supposedly heard for snow forecasts.

Farmer 1: Theyre calling for snow. Said up to a foot!

Farmer 2: Bullsh**! They said no more than a dusting!

Farmer 3: No, no, no, I heard at least 16” inches with 50 mph winds!

I always wondered where the hell these guys supposedly heard these wildly varying forecasts.

I measured right at 12 inches of snow in west Des Moines. It was still kind of snowing at 7.

I looked at the vehicles this morning and no snow was on them and could still see the tire tracks from yesterday in the snow. Says we got an inch and a half but I never saw any.

Just drove to work in the metro. Roads are not bad at all. Really partially covered. Outside the metro I might pause but if you are in the metro I wouldn’t worry.

That dry pocket from 4-7 killed big totals here in CR. No idea what we got as it has blown all around.
