Snowing good in Ames/Nevada right now.

Incredibly cruel to sandwich a surprise snowstorm right between a weeklong polar vortex and the promise of a week of sunshine and relatively warmer temps.

Looks like the dry air is a bit much to overcome here in Amana. No snow yet, even though per radar it should be snowing.

Snowing like crazy all morning here in Western Iowa. Supposed to head back to DSM later today. See if roads are cleared by 5-6

50 miles east of Omaha- 6 inches of wet snow- I 80 going strong. Still light snow falling.

It's silly how excited I and others I talk to are about 40's and sunshine this coming week.. Tone is almost like spring is coming. I'm status we are getting our hopes up

Drove from Winterset to Waukee this morning on 80. Was an SUV completely flipped upside down in the EB lanes. Looks like it had just happened with people still inside. (Many vehicles stopped and were assisting) Troopers and paramedics were en route. Roads were just slushy at that point. Shows how quickly it can go awry.

Thinking around 5” (of snow).

I'd guess 2 inches of new snow in crapids, but roads are pretty slushy
