***Official 2018 NCAA Tourney Thread***

Loyola has surprised me, but I just can't see a way that they would be able to stop Wagner.

I think it'll be Michigan/Nova and Nova is just too good.

MIchigan has been spotty on offense and Wagner has had times when he gets in foul trouble. If I had to bet I would bet on MIchigan but Loyola keeps winning so who knows?

Yeah, hopefully it's a good game.

I fear if they do get by Michigan.. it could be an ugly title game, but again.. who knows.

So there in the one and done teams era Duke and Kentucky have won 2 championships but both of those teams had non-freshman that were important to the team. Kentucky had Lamb Jones and Miller in 2012 and in 2015 Duke had Jefferson, Cook and Jones. So no team that has relied mostly on Freshman has won it. Which is interesting because you look at next year's Duke team and it will be basically the same thing. They will lose their entire starting 5 probably.

I honestly don't know if I would bet against Loyola at this point.

I think even if they do lose they'll at least cover the spread.

I agree. They haven’t gotten here by luck. They play very sound basketball on both ends, and they have talent. They’re certainly playing teams with more talent, but their execution helps them overcome that.

Mar 27, 1939; Oregon beats Ohio St 46-33, to win the first NCAA Tourney.

Trivial Trivia: That's one of only 3 times the title game involved schools beginning with the same letter. It hasn't happened since 1951 (and won't again this year).

1939: Oregon State-Ohio State
1941: Wisconsin-Washington State
1951: Kentucky-Kansas State

Just watched the ESPN piece on UM's Austin Hatch. I had heard his story before, but the details shared today just shows what an incredible young man he has grown to be. He deservedly will go far in life.
