MLB: ***Official 2018 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Almora CF
Baez 2B
KB (if healthy) 3B
Rizzo 1B
Contreras C
Schwarber DH
Happ LF
Heyward RF
Russell SS

is my first guess. Unless Joe wants to get another lefty in there with LaStella
This is almost identical to what I just pulled together except with Happ and Russell swapped and I thought of the alternate with LaStella taking taking third and Bryant in LF.

Len just said averaging 9.5 runs a game in wins and 2 runs in a game in losses. That's not a surprising stat at all but still pretty crazy

Schwarbs still making AL teams drool with his DH potential.
Nice to see Happ have a good day, he needed that.
Javy still raking.

I love to see the Cubs make an opposing manager go through his bullpen like a drunken sailor. I like it even better when the Cubs make them do it in the first game of a series.

Chatwood is the first cubs pitcher to make it to the 7th inning so far this year. That’s mind blowing when looking at our 1-4

Had anyone listed to the Colorado announcers discussing Javys blocking of the sign stealing of the last play of the game. Are these guys for real?

I am far from a baseball rules guru but I can't understand what the second base umpire could possibly have been so upset with Baez for. He wasn't in the way of the runner. I'd be more willing to forgive some homer TV announcers than the crew.

Javy is already one of my favorite players of all time. He runs the bases like he's just not going to be denied touching home plate, the fakeout he did a week ago turning a double into a triple was as fun a play as I've seen in a while.

6 of their 13 wins have come against the Reds. I wouldn't worry about them at all. The Brewers seem like they may be as pesky as last year.

The Brewers have 10 of their 15 wins against San Diego, Cincinnati, Miami, and Kansas City. Those teams have a combined record of 25-67. I think the Brewers and Cardinals will both push the Cubs similar to last season, but they have both feasted on weak teams so far.

Hell I'm salivating at having a guy that can put up an 1.100 OPS in a corner OF spot, Schwarber's defense isn't nearly as bad as some people think.
