Seems like more than a 3 game anomaly. More like a second half slump.
Scoring one is an anomaly, they're averaging about 2.7 runs per game in the second half. Saying they're a top tier offense is probably wrong as well. Without Bryant and several people in a prolonged slump, this offense is pretty easy to pitch to, though they can still hammer mistakes

here's a stat for you, the Cubs scored 476 runs in the first half of the season, which is really good. They are almost half way through the second half of the season, they've scored 111 which is ummm, not great Bob.
they've been outscored in the second half 135-111.
but hey, if you want to close your eyes and scream all is well, you do you.
my hope is Contreras can't possibly play this bad forever, assuming he's healthy. Plus the addition of a map in Bryant should help ease the burden.
