Exactly. I want to hate the Warriors, but I can't. Golden State built a monster the way a team should be built - through the draft and smart roster moves; not spending more than everyone else on free agents. Same can really be said of San Antonio. Neither team is a "destination" team like Miami, New York, or Los Angeles, yet both teams are beasts.
And after the first round of games, is anyone going to avoid a sweep?
The NBA is a bracket like the NCAA tourney.

Thibs to the T-Wolves? Could be a good move for them. Kind of depends if he learned anything from his last head coaching stop. Maybe dial back the regular season intensity a bit, manage player minutes and leave something in the tank for the postseason. And try to stay on speaking terms with the front office. And don't build your roster around a PG constructed of glass, cotton balls, and spit. Easy enough.

Thibodeau's intensity is the only reason why the Bulls were worth a damn the last few years. He squeezed every drop of ability out of that team to make them as good as they appeared to be. Yes, they ran out of gas in the playoffs, but newsflash: they weren't that good in the first place.
You're joking, right? Phil Jackson couldn't stay on speaking terms with that front office, and he only won 6 championships for them. He ran away screaming to LA where he ended up winning a whole bunch more championships while the Bulls have been mired in mediocrity since. The reason why Thibodeau wasn't on good terms with that front office is because nobody is capable of being on good terms with that front office.
Maybe I missed something, but do you really think Thibodeau really wanted to build the roster the way it was? Did he have any choice in the matter? Or did he just take what was given to him and he made the absolute best of it and he's getting a serious lack of appreciation for what he accomplished, even in spite of the season Fred Hoiberg had this last season?

It's interesting, I'm not nuts about the dual coach/President role. I think a lot of times you need different visions, long term vs short term, in those roles and Thibs really did not seem to have much of a long term outlook with the Bulls, it was all about doing whatever it takes to win the next game.
Minnesota has the athletic ability to be much better than they were this year, I think they'll be a ton improved on that side of the ball next year. Thibs offense in Chicago was average to painful come playoff time, hopefully for Minnesota he brings in some offensive minded assistants. Minnesota has a great young core to build on though, they will be exciting to watch the next couple of years.
With his weak hand on his back side? Without the turn around it's a pretty similar mirror of Jordan's on Russell.
Yeah. I read in USA Today this morning that if it's a low grade MCL sprain as feared, the typical recovery time for NBA players with that injury this season was fifteen days. That's potentially the entire second round without him, and even if they survive that there'll still be plenty of rust to knock off.
i don't think the new injury had anything to do with his previous ankle injury. Just a fluke thing.

Confirmed by the team - it's a low grade MCL sprain and he'll be re-evaluated in two weeks. If Chris Paul and the Clips are ever going to break through, this is going to be their best shot. They'll get the Curry-less Warriors while the Spurs will have to slug it out against a full strength OKC.
