Offical Postgame thread

What a game atmosphere - what a tremendous crowd! This, with a ten-game losing streak, and playing an obscure, unranked FCS team on a Thursday night.
If we ever start winning, we could become a football school.

Sims is going to be a stud for us if he continues to play like he did tonight. I have a feeling that the playbook consisted of about 3 pages tonight, we only saw them get fancy one time, and if Reynolds and Hamilton hooked up on that play, the place would have exploded. So close...

Offense was a little shaky, dropped passes, couple fumbles
50 yd FG, what? Nice!
Money needs to catch then run
D line is terrible
that rb for NDSU was really good, kept it a close game
no delay of games A++ for Herman
overall not an impressive win, but hopefully a tuneup for Iowa

I know our front 7 lacks talent, but are they should be able to still dominate NDSU. The thing that scares me about the d-line is that we don't have any freshman talent. Front 7 recruiting needs to be major priority.
You mean, besides Laing, Maggitt and Woods?

David Sims A+
Leonard A-
Lenz A
D line as a whole- D+
Money B+
A-Rob A
AA - B-
Hamilton A
Special Teams A-
Linebackers B-
O-line B

A win to start off the season and CPR's dynasty. Priceless.

The concern for me is that because of our no-huddle spread offense, we've become a "finesse team" on BOTH sides of the ball.
I expected us to physically manhandle NDSU. That didn't happen.

If we weren't showing Iowa to much, then why did we show the dipsy-doodle to Hamilton? That would've been a great play to use on Iowa. I don't think we see that one again for a long time... if ever.

The d-line got whipped pretty good but I dont think that shoulda been to much of a shocker

We will definitely see that again. More than once.

Im guessing Herman is cooking up something really good for Iowa
2-3 trick plays at min I would guess

I think the offense started to click when on Austen calmed down in the second half. Money & Marquis dropped a few to many passes but got it together.
Overall special teams was solid.
Impressed with the discipline, I think we only got flagged a couple times tonight. No false starts or delay of game.
Like everyone else, really impressed with Sims.
Defense, well we were starting from God-awful and just trying to get to bad. Right now best I can say is that we are not as awful. If we get to just plain horrible next week, it will be a big leap
