One thought about each of "The Nine" tonight...
Morris -- frankly just *looks* more and more like DeAndre all the time with the driving and the slashing (on top of the excellent defense and ball-handling)
BDJ -- still a knucklehead, but hopefully he learns, and I hope this game shows him that, no matter how good he is, we've plenty of options on the wing without him so SHAPE UP
Long -- bench-warming freshman, sniper sophomore, and becoming an offensive force of nature as a junior and a decent defender
Hogue -- glad to see the "old" Hogue back with rebounds, "trash" put-backs, and always being in the right spot for Morris and Niang to feed down low on moves
Niang -- the legend grows... not his best game, but we all know what he can do, a loving kiss at the student section is such affection trash on his part, he's just as bit a Cyclone fan as any of us... please succeed Fred someday... please...
Edozie -- better him getting the fouls over Niang, not his best game, either, but no longer an absolute liability on offense makes him useful
Thomas -- seems to be the "new Long" as the bench sniper and energy guy, and that 3sus shot at the end of the half was hilarious
Nader -- well, that was more what we were promised, glad the rust is off and he can start rolling as a stat monster of a force against other team's second units
McKay -- still all promise, but I can only imagine we KILL Iowa (rather than just beating them) with BDJ and McKay around, given what we did to them with 2/4 of our best players and maybe 3/5 of our starters... McKay's size and length would have negated whatever size advantage Iowa had, not that they used it much, and their offense was offensive against our undersized small ball setup, imagine what it looks like with this 7' wingspan hawking the ball
