Came here hours after the game to commiserate. Tried reading a few threads. Still not ready to think about this loss. Maybe tomorrow. Don't remember having this pit in my stomach over a loss in a long time.

Did we not suffer enough during football season? Now the crapper is to lose to #185 rpi TT Dunderheads on Red Raider mask day.

Its so hard to stomach, yet its such a long journey and grind. I don't think we know enough about this team yet. The same team that won at WV and defeated KU just a week ago, was down 17 to an 0-6 conference team in a blink of an eye. I still look back to Tuesday's game, and think how we were "possibly" one block away from perhaps dropping that game. It has nothing to do with being negative nor lacking expectations....I just think we have some pieces missing and some inconsistencies/weaknesses with this team, that a top 10 ranking just isn't where we are. Yet, hopefully a top 20 one. Fans need to forget predicting automatics or blow out wins against any of these teams, regardless of their previous performances. We just don't seem to be at that level. But here's to playing our best come March.....

Honestly, we play better putting pressure on the other team. Maybe the defense needs to change. We have plenty of players on the bench to be more aggressive. Obviously, we can then shoot lousy but win the game. Need to exude more energy on defense full game.

So you're not ready to talk about the loss, you tried reading a few threads, and thought it was a good idea to start a thread and tell us all about it? That's kind of weird, but in a twisted kind of a way, I could see how it could be therapeutic.

Maybe I have gone through this too many times in my 13 years of being a die hard fan, but yesterday's loss did not bother me at all. Not sure why?

WVU could have gone the other way too. They missed some shots down the stretch. Overall, I would say this team has two things that have impacted this season in a negative way. One, is they are arrogant and overconfident. They get a lot of press and a lot of praise. I bet they went into the Maryland, South Carolina, and Texas Tech games thinking there is no way they could lose. It bit them in the @ss each time. Now, hopefully they get it, you have to be mentally prepared to show up or you WILL get beat. The other thing this teams lack is a high basketball IQ. Morris has it, but not every one else. Their shot selection sometimes is mind boggling.

I hate the loss, but when looking for silver-lining, here is what I found...this may be the wake up call that was needed. We have clearly been playing to the level of our opponents, especially since Big 12 play started. We have done just enough to get by, and now twice we have found ways to lose. Losing to TT is absolutely embarrassing to a team with the expectations this one has, and I am genuinely excited to see how they will respond. If they lay an egg vs Texas, the truth is we may have been nothing more than a 10-8 Big 12 team anyway that benefitted from playing an average non-con schedule to get to the record we were at. If we come out and beat Texas soundly, then maybe the TT game was the dose of reality this team needed to play up to their potential every single night, and they make a nice run at the conference title.

The other scenario is they squeak by Texas, everyone claims it was Hilton Magic, but in reality we are the same team we have been to this point that exerts just enough energy to win the game (or potentially come up just short) and we tear our hair out at the lack of urgency and chemistry this team seems to possess overall. For the sake of silver-lining, my vote is for the wake up call. For once, I wish it was Monday...
