You can say that again. Their defense didn't even want to be there. All those 4 and 5 stars, and they mail it in.

Their defense hasn't wanted to be there all year based on what I've seen. Could be awkward if Bob has to tell Mike to hit the road.

Having said that, compare last night with the OU game two years ago in Ames. I remember watching that **** show and genuinely fearing for the safety of Cyclone players who were getting thrown all over the field. If memory serves me correctly Jevon Miller got hurt pretty badly. The intensity on our side last night was encouraging. Bailey and Tucker were holding their own inside against OUs offensive line.

Don't know if OU was sleepwalking or not, but our guys weren't just getting manhandled like they did under Rhoads. I think part of that is coaching and player development.

I think most coaches in the conference know Ames is tough place to play, so they are not looking past a road game in Ames, I also believe they preach to their player s to get ready and not overlook, but I am sure there are out-liars within the team that look past for sure with being a 1-8 team.... But just for comparison on difference OU played KU last week, they are also a 1 win team.... 56-3, that is a bit of beat down, and our game last night was competative through the entire thing till the bad execution crept in at the end... 34-24 final

Last night was a fun time, but Ames is a tough place to play? Have you looked at our home record over the years? It's not that tough.

No team is overlooking someone who should have beaten Baylor and OSU. When you put that tape on, there's plenty of reason to pay attention. Besides that, except for Iowa, we haven't just looked outmatched like Rutgers or something. We look like a team that can compete but we struggle to win.

If people believe that was Oklahoma's A game I have some swap land in Florida to sell you.

Our biggest issue is the DL and LB position. Every team has been successful in sustaining long drives via the run, especially in the latter parts of games. We have no depth there and the guys are getting gassed. Couple that with some more offensive consistency and we'll start to see wins.

I actually thought the LBs were okay last night. It's tough when you have a guy like Mayfield who can move and be accurate on the run. There were a handful of times we had them in 3rd and long, got pressure and he made a play. To me, that was the difference in the game. We just continue to not be able to get off the field in situations where we should.

No sir I don't sell to hard. I provide insight based on 5 years of close contact with these coaches. You should be more worried if I say they suck on a post by post basis based on my experiences. Now, the post you responded about had nothing to do with selling anything. It was about opposition coaches and if they prepare as hard for ISU etc. etc. All this being said, I also want a W!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the general perception of Heacock down there?

you are basing it on W.... I wish we had success at the W level. I am talking competitive games. we even had some tight games at home back during the Chizik situation that we had no business being in historically....

The yardage was 477-290, first downs 28-15, TOP 36:59 to 23:01.

I don't think the game was that close.

I think we're still two years from respectability. I watch at this point because I still like seeing them compete. ISU obviously has a lot of fans like this, to get a crowd like they had tonight for a Thursday game for a 1-6 team.

The default measure of success for many ISU fans is our great attendance or the comparison of other teams lack of attendance. Iowa filled the stadium for 20 straight years and no winning record.

So im delirious because we have played a tight game with 3 good opponents? Dont remember saying anything about how good i think we are or how good we will be. Pretty sure it was just a simple question but i guess i should have realized the debbie downers of CF would show up and throw ***** at every post and every person with a hint of optimism.
Kind of what I was thinking. This may be the worst OU team we have seen in a long time, yet can't win.

A Hawk fan of all fans should know that the team with the best numbers doesn't always win. Captain Kirk always says, "we're not a numbers team".

Don't use logic to show them their level of douche. It's so much more fun letting them make an ass of themselves.

No one has won more games while being completely outplayed than Iowa. The game was not really close, but ISU was within striking distance in the quarter. Compared to the epic beatdowns that the Sooners routinely but on ISU it was a close.

Maybe an Ohio perspective, but what else do ISU and turdeye fans have to do. Watch the corn grow. Enjoyed saying this since it's usually thrown my way.

Oklahoma controlled the offensive line of scrimmage and were able to pile up the yards, but it wasn't an OU offense that had many big plays. OU didn't push tempo yesterday, but they probably felt ball control was in their best interest with players they were missing and it being a short week.

That said, saying the game wasn't that close is a pretty silly statememt. The scoreboard doesn't lie. OU was never up by more than 14 points. It's not like OU turned the ball over a bunch to keep points off the board. The critical possession was the final OU touchdown in the first half.

Wow - almost where? There is a difference from being a "debbie downer" and a realist. We are in mode of hoping - yes hoping - to beat Kansas. We are not "almost anywhere" . 4-5 years before this team finds stability and wins past 6 a season. Please go back in history to all the glowing comments made about LanRam last year and replace with Park. He is a project who was out of football for a reason. We are seeing why - he is not consistent and may never be. The OL and DL and LB positions are weak and have no depth. That is reality and cannot be fixed with a CF poster's "belief" it will be better next year- it may be but we have not seen it so I am not counting on it. Is it possible we win more next year? Yes - is it probable we win 3-4 ? Yes - Bowl game - doubtful at best. 3 B12 wins at minimum and sweeping non-con? Really? I would love to see it and will buy tickets again - but will not "bet the house"!

If you just hope we beat Kansas this season you haven't watched a lot of football this season. It would be a colossal disappointment if we loose to Kansas, the level of play of the two teams isn't even close. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but ISU has played much better than Kansas since week 2.

Not true, my mother attended their during the stretch. Student tickets were free and the stadium was far from full.
